Augmented Reality
AR has already started to take over some aspects of gaming and social settings. For example, the game popular Pokémon Go!®is a downloadable app where players use AR to catch and battle Pokémon. Just as AR is starting to be used more frequently in games, it is also being implemented in classrooms. “Augmented Reality is generating new opportunities for the development ofubiquity within educational environments,” (Sáez-López, Sevillano-García, & Pascual-Sevillano, 2019, p. 65). These authors conducted a study using AR application “WallaMe” to be used with students in primary grades. “WallaMe” is a free cell phone app that lets users create messages in real life, but only certain users can view them. This could be useful such games as scavenger hunts, puzzles, riddles, collaboration or other creative processes.
