Social Robots

Other types of robots have been created in various robotics classrooms, but Social Robots are specially engineered robots created for interaction with humans. Some teachers may have heard of building robots in special engineering courses, but social robots will bring a different level of understanding to the human mind.
They were initially “designed to express and recognize human emotions (Breazeal, 2002) and are now being widely tested for use in educational settings (Belpaeme, Kennedy, Ramachandran, Scassellati, & Tanaka, 2018),” (Woo, LeTendre, Pham-Shouse, & Xiong, 2021, p. 1). As the poster mentioned, they may be best suited to assist with students with mental disabilities or disorders.
